CYT is excited to announce that we will be taking a team of students to Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta to perform a 15 minute cut of Matilda Jr. Junior Theater Festival is a weekend that celebrates theater at the Cobb Galleria. Events include: Adjudications, workshops for students and teachers, the New Works Showcase, Awards Ceremonies, specially curated mainstage productions featuring Broadway's finest, and the largest collection of musical theater lovers under one roof.

This audition only class will teach students how to collaborate onstage and create a full, immersive story in just 15 minutes. JTF performances focus on precision, character development, storytelling, dynamic singing, and much more.

**This class fulfills 1 Musical Theater OR 1 Specialty class for Decathlon Award**

There will be additional fees for JTF registration, hotel, and food.
Prerequisite: Students are required to audition for this class. Auditions will be the first day of class on August 4th. More audition information will be provided upon registration. Students who do not make the troupe will be offered to exchange classes or receive a full refund.

Jennifer Jordan

Director/Musical Director-- A classically trained singer, soprano Jenn Jordan has a background in early music and opera. After graduating from Clayton State University as a Spivey Scholar, she performed throughout the Southeast as a historical performance specialist, and as a freelance soloist. Jenn sang for several seasons with the Atlanta Opera, and worked as a staff singer at several Atlanta churches. After discovering her true passions to be teaching and directing, Jenn began teaching voice at private schools and through her home studio. Jenn is the Director of Middle and Lower School Drama at the Wesleyan School, and she maintains an active private voice studio. She is Director of Music at Christ Church Episcopal, and is founding director of the Christ Church Players. Jenn also is an Assistant Director for the Grammy Award-winning Gwinnett Young Singers (both Concert Choir and Treble Choir) and she freelances as a singer/music director.


Kennady Mays

Kennady Mays has loved every minute being a part of the CYT family. She grew up performing from kindergarten through high school, and found that her heart belonged off stage, teaching and nurturing students. Her Junior Theater Festival competition troupe took home "Excellence in Ensemble" in 2022, and "Excellence in Dance" in 2024. She is thrilled to be at CYT, and cannot wait to help young performers grow in their passion for the arts!
