Description

“Bit by bit, putting it together! “ This is the class that combines the three elements of musical theatre: voice, dance and acting. Be a part of the wonderful world of musical theatre by exploring storytelling choreography, vocal interpretations and how to create a character. Class will include warm-ups, group activities, dance routines, theatre games and performance. Skills to be covered include: basic vocal/physical warm-up techniques, creating stage pictures with dance and song, group activities and exercises that incorporate the body and voice, basic dance steps often incorporated into musical theatre choreography, telling a story through facial expressions, voice and dance, performing a musical show tune with a group or ensemble musical theatre number from start to finish while beginning to show signs of confidence, focus, energy, and stage presence.

Carys Feldman

Carys Feldman trained with Atlanta Dance Theatre for 15 years in various styles of dance including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Hip-Hop. She was part of their Pre-Professional company from the age of 7-18 years old. Along with dance, Carys participated in school theatre throughout middle and high school. She received Regional and State Best Actress at the GHSA One-Act Play competition while portraying the role of Anne Frank. She later choreographed Cambridge High School's production of Little Shop of Horrors. Carys currently resides in Kennesaw where she is a third-year student majoring in nursing and minoring in dance. She is in Zeta Tau Alpha and has a black cat named Mavis! Carys also competes in the Miss America Organization and currently holds the title of Miss Gwinnett County. Fun fact: her favorite musical is Chicago, which she was able to see live on Broadway!
